Noida: Three members of a gang were arrested for allegedly cheating job seekers by promising employment in multinational companies and issuing forged offer letters after collecting money from them.Those arrested include Vikas Dabar (34), a resident of Gaur City-2, Bisrakh; Arun Kumar (28), a resident of Sector 45; and Vaibhav Kumar (23), a resident of Khoda, Ghaziabad. Police said Vikas worked as a claims settlement executive with a foreign company, while Vaibhav and Arun had previously worked with MNCs.According to DCP (central Noida) Shakti Mohan Avasthy, the trio created profiles on online platform “myworkdayjobs.com” to obtain data of job seekers. They then contacted candidates and lured them with promises of jobs in reputed MNCs, offering salaries ranging from Rs 30,000 to Rs 60,000.Police said the accused demanded a commission of 15–20% of the total annual salary package and asked candidates to transfer Rs 40,000–60,000 as ‘token money’ into their personal bank accounts.To make the offer appear genuine, the accused created email IDs resembling those of reputed companies. Using their computers, they generated forged offer letters on company letterheads and sent them to candidates via email with a joining date. When candidates approached the companies to verify their employment status, the accused cited technical issues or documentation discrepancies. Subsequently, they sent revised offer letters with a new joining date or a new offer letter from another company.Police said a complaint was registered at Bisrakh police station on Thursday for cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy under BNS. A police team later arrested the three suspects near Iteda roundabout on Friday following a tip-off.Police have seized a CPU, monitor, keyboard, mouse, six forged job offer letters from different companies, three mobile phones and Rs 7,600 in cash. The transaction history and details of bank accounts linked to the accused are being investigated.
