Galgotias University issued a clarification for reportedly displaying Chinese robodog at the AI Summit

Galgotias University has issued a formal apology after confusion arose at a recent AI Summit when an unauthorised representative at its pavilion provided factually incorrect information about the technical origins of a showcased product. The university said there was “no institutional intent to misrepresent” the innovation and confirmed it has vacated the premises following organisers’ concerns.

Galgotias University has apologised for the confusion created at a recent AI Summit after one of its pavilion representatives made inaccurate statements about the technical origins of a product on display.

In an official statement, Registrar N K Gaur said, “One of our representatives, manning the pavilion, was ill-informed. She was not aware of the technical origins of the product and in her enthusiasm of being on camera, gave factually incorrect information even though she was not authorised to speak to the press.”

The university clarified that the lapse was individual and not reflective of institutional intent. “We request your kind understanding as there was no institutional intent to misrepresent this innovation. Galgotias University remains firmly committed to academic integrity, transparency, and responsible representation of our work,” the statement added.

Acknowledging the organisers’ concerns over the episode, the university further noted that it has vacated the summit premises. “Understanding the organisers’ sentiment we have vacated the premises,” the statement said.

The episode comes at a time when universities are increasingly showcasing AI-led innovations at national summits and industry platforms, placing greater emphasis on accurate attribution and authorised communication to maintain credibility and transparency.
