With metro authorities expecting to lay the foundation stone for the project in March 2026, officials expect additional fund allocation for the project for the next fiscal. “JMRC has conducted feasibility studies for at least three to four new alignments and govt is likely to announce budget to prepare DPR for at least one of the alignments,” said a senior official.The state govt has planned to extend the proposed Line 1D (Mansarovar to 200-Feet Bypass) towards Ajmer Road and the newly constructed Heerapura bus stand. Feasibility reports for a couple of alignments centering the Walled City have also been conducted.On traffic, officials said the focus is likely to be on signal-free crossings at some of the city’s busiest intersections. They said announcements for two to three new elevated roads and future RoBs/RuBs are also expected. “There are expectations for projects related to Jhalana Bypass for JLN Marg and for areas around the Sikar Road,” an official said.For water supply, officials said the government may announce funds for laying a second Bisalpur pipeline. With the WRD aiming to commission ERCP by 2028, PHED is looking to strengthen Bisalpur supply to Jaipur. “The DPR for the strengthening works are ready. We need funds to start the construction works,” an official said.
