In today’s fast-paced world, quality sleep is being compromised, which is impacting overall quality of life. While much of the focus is often on how many hours we sleep, what we do in the time leading up to bedtime also has a meaningful impact. When we sleep well, the brain is able to reset, restore, and prepare for the next day, helping us think clearly, manage stress better, and maintain emotional balance. However, modern lifestyles often disrupt these natural patterns, making it harder for the mind to slow down at the end of the day.
1. Head massage
Dr Vaishali Gode, EVP, R and D, Product Development (Nourishment) and Packaging, Marico Limited, and Hair Expert, Parachute Advansed recommends an unhurried head massage to end the day on a calming note. She highlights that our scalp contains a dense network of blood vessels and nerve endings, making it highly responsive to touch and stimulation. When hair oil is applied and gently massaged into the scalp, it stimulates blood circulation and helps to relax. Dr Vaishali said, “From a physiological perspective, this helps the body unwind and gradually shift into a state of rest. The gentle pressure enhances blood flow and oxygen supply to the scalp, improving the delivery of essential nutrients to hair follicles.”
