Kolkata: A fresh complaint was lodged at the Kalighat PS against Trinamool national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee for allegedly violating the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. The traffic wing of Kolkata police is probing this incident.According to the complaint, security personnel assigned to Banerjee were seen standing on an SUV’s footboards on either side with their hands gripping the roof rails while the vehicle travelled down the streets. The complainant, Rajib Sarkar, said this practice posed a severe risk to the lives of the security staff and threatened the safety of other commuters. Sarkar asked police to treat his complaint as an FIR.This is the second complaint that Sarkar has lodged against Banerjee. Earlier he had lodged a complaint against Banerjee’s pre-election threat of playing DJ on election result day.
