Raichur: Deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar Saturday said the state Congress govt may introduce a scheme to provide free land as its sixth guarantee if people continue to extend their cooperation.Speaking at the concluding ceremony of the three-day Ede Dore Nadu Raichur District Utsav–2026 at the Agricultural Sciences University premises Saturday night, Shivakumar said people’s incomes had fallen due to price rises and many were facing financial difficulties. “In this context, the government implemented five guarantee schemes to help the people. Free land will be the sixth guarantee,” he said.On water-related issues, Shivakumar said local residents had requested the government to stop 33 TMC of water from the Tungabhadra reservoir from flowing into the sea through Andhra Pradesh and to make good use of it. He said the matter would be discussed with the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister.Ministers Dr Sharan Prakash Patil and NS Boseraju, MLAs Basanagowda Daddal, Hampangouda Badarli, Basanagouda Turvihal and GT Patil, MLC A Vasanth Kumar, MP Kumar Nayak, Deputy Commissioner Nitish K, ZP CEO Ishwar Kandoo and SP Arunangshu Giri, along with several other dignitaries, were present.
