Rajkot: The special operations group (SOG) of Jamnagar police arrested four men and allegedly seized heroin worth Rs 83 lakh in their possession during a raid near Moti Khavdi village on the Jamnagar–Khambhaliya highway on Friday.The action came as part of the “No Drugs in Jamnagar” campaign, to clamp down on the narcotics trade. According to police officials, SOG teams were patrolling rural areas of Jamnagar district when they received intelligence that four persons from Punjab were staying at a certain hotel in Moti Khavdi with a consignment of a narcotic drug. Based on the input, police raided Room 202 of the hotel.During the search, police allegedly found 418g of heroin — valued at Rs 83.6 lakh — cash, seven mobile phones and a weighing scale. All four occupants were taken into custody.The accused are Vishal Singh Mattu, Harpreet Singh Majvi, Bikramjeet Singh Majvi and Jagdip Singh Khehra, all residents of Punjab.A case was registered at Meghpar (Padana) police station under Sections 8(c), 22(c), and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Further investigation is underway to determine the source of the drugs and potential links to a wider network. The drug was to be sold in Jamnagar and neighbouring Devbhumi Dwarka district, police said.
