Mumbai: Four men were arrested by Khar Police for mugging a 28-year-old man who had ventured into the mangroves at Carter Road, Bandra, to attend nature’s call. He was assaulted and robbed of his cellphone, documents and cash.The complainant is a UP native and works at a salon in Juhu. Around 10.30 pm on Aug 27, he had gone to Carter Road for work and decided to take a stroll after he got done. To attend nature’s call, he ventured into the mangroves in the darkness. Suddenly, four men approached him and started to hurl expletives at him. They started to beat him up and laid him horizontally on the ground.Two of the men held the complainant’s hands while the others took his mobile phone from his trouser pocket and rained punches on him. When he protested, the accused threatened to throw him into the sea. The complainant suffered injuries on his elbow, face and back. The accused also robbed him of his Aadhaar card, PAN card, driving licence and Rs 600 in cash.When the accused started to leave, the complainant raised an alarm but they pushed him away. After a complaint was lodged with Khar Police, teams were formed and the quartet was held within a few hours. The accused are footpath dwellers from Dharavi and Bandra.
