Patna: Police have arrested a former ward member, Ravindra Sahni, as the third accused in connection with a video involving molestation of a minor that surfaced on social media in Samastipur’s Musrigharari police station area. Sahni, a resident of Latbasepura, was arrested by a team led by SHO Rakesh Kumar Singh.Police said four accused have been identified in the case and efforts are underway to arrest the fourth.The case came to light on Sept 24 during social media monitoring by the district police. During the technical investigation, police traced the location shown in the video. An FIR was subsequently registered under relevant sections of the BNS, Pocso Act and Information Technology Act.Police had earlier arrested Dharmendra Sahni of Latbasepura on Friday and Roshan Kumar Mishra alias Bhagat Mishra of Morwa Deeh on Saturday. With Ravindra’s arrest, three accused have now been taken into custody.According to police, the incident captured in the video took place on Aug 14, 2025. Investigators are also trying to establish the original source of the video and identify those involved in circulating it on social media.Police said Sahni had previously faced a case under the Pocso Act and had served as a ward member. Investigators have identified him as the man seen attempting to hit a young man with an umbrella in the viral video.Police have appealed to people not to share or circulate photographs or videos involving the minor.
