Chandigarh: Within hours of Punjab govt announcing a scheme for women, the Haryana AAP unit urged Haryana CM Nayab Saini to follow the ‘Kejriwal model.’AAP’s national media in-charge and senior leader from Haryana, Anurag Dhanda, described the “Mukhyamantri Mawan Dhiyan Satkar Yojana” launched by the Bhagwant Mann govt in Punjab as a major scheme for women empowerment. Dhanda said that in Haryana, the Nayab Saini govt only made promises to women in the name of the ‘Lado Lakshmi Yojana’, but later imposed so many conditions that most women were left out of that scheme. “The benefits of the BJP’s scheme reached only a limited number of women, whereas in Punjab, the Mann govt set an example of true public welfare by bringing almost all women within the ambit of this scheme without discrimination,” he addedHe said that while the BJP govt’s scheme in Haryana remained merely an election gimmick, in Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party govt turned its guarantee into reality.Dhanda said that under this scheme, all eligible women above 18 years of age will be given ₹1000 per month, and Scheduled Caste women will be given ₹1500 directly into their bank accounts. Approximately 97 percent of women in Punjab will benefit from this scheme, which is a record in itself in the entire country.“AAP govt has ensured that women do not have to face any kind of unnecessary conditions and restrictions to avail the benefits of this scheme. Even women availing social security pension benefits will also be eligible for this scheme,” he said. He added that if the Haryana CM wanted to do politics in the interest of women, then he should learn from Punjab’s “Kejriwal Model” and work towards providing similar relief to the women of Haryana as well.Waive strict conditions: SeljaMP Kumari Selja on Sunday asked Haryana CM Nayab Saini to waive the strict conditions imposed by government in implementation of Lado Laxmi Yojna. While participating in district level function at Sirsa, Selja categorically said that Saini led BJP govenrment should announce the waivers of condition as a women’s day gift. MSID:: 129271670 413 |
