Guwahati: A lively celebration of music and culture that captured the essence of Bohag and Assam added cheer to the Tezpur University campus at it recently hosted the ‘Bohagi Utsab’.The programme was organised by the Pragati Women’s Association, a non-profit women’s group associated with the university.The event began with a tribute to singer Zubeen Garg. Members of the Pragati Women’s Association, together with students and faculty, presented traditional songs, dances and festive performances that showcased the richness of Assamese culture.Noted artist Jina Rajkumari and her troupe added colour to the evening with performances that reflected the energy and charm of Assamese folk music and traditions.Among those present were Prof Amarendra Kumar Das, pro vice chancellor; Prof Chandan Goswami, registrar in-charge; Biren Das, controller of examinations; as well as faculty members, staff, students and invited guests.
