Chennai: A 14-year-old boy from Madhya Pradesh, who was sexually assaulted by two unidentified men at Central railway station on Nov 27, 2025, died at Govt Stanley hospital on Sunday night of complications resulting from his injuries getting infected.Police said the boy was eking out a living as a ragpicker near the railway station after coming to the city about a year ago. On Nov 27, the boy told the police that two strangers forced him into an empty compartment of a train parked at the station and repeatedly sexually assaulted him. The two men then fled. The boy was rescued by the district child protection unit and initially treated at Govt Stanley hospital and admitted to a govt orphanage.He was brought to the hospital several times afterwards for treatment, and sent back after short stays. Police said he was again brought last week with complications, including severe urinary infection. He died on on Sunday night without responding to treatment. Following the boy’s death, the railway police team investigating the case altered the charges to include murder. The two assailants remain untraced.
