Ghaziabad: A fire broke out at a shoe showroom in Ghantaghar on Tuesday evening. The cause of the fire, which took place at the Wings Shoes showroom around 5pm, is not known. No injury has been reported.Chief fire officer (CFO) Rahul Pal said, “It took around two hours to control the situation. A total of 11 vehicles were present at this fire. No loss of life occurred. We are trying to identify the cause of the fire, but it is suspected that a short circuit could be the reason behind the incident. The information was shared with Kotwali fire station. All fire tenders, along with the Kotwali fire officer, were dispatched to the spot. The fire broke out on the fourth floor of the building, where shoes were stored. On the terrace, generator sets as well as the fuel were kept, due to which fire surrounded the area quickly.”Six fire tenders were sent from Kotwali fire station, two others were called from Vaishali and the remaining tenders were called from different fire stations of Ghaziabad, the CFO said, adding, the fire service unit started firefighting by spreading hose lines up to the rooftops of nearby buildings. Due to intense heat and smoke inside the building, fire personnel wore breathing apparatus sets and entered the building to carry out firefighting. One team of the fire department entered the building by breaking its wall.
