Lucknow: An FIR has been registered at PGI police station against a sub-inspector and two constables posted in Bijnor district, along with two to three unidentified persons, after a court directed police to act on allegations that two brothers were forcibly taken from their home in Lucknow and later shown as arrested in a case in Bijnor.The case was registered against then-Noorpur sub-inspector Gautam, constable Amit Kumar, constable Rahul, and unidentified persons on the complaint of Mahendra Singh Saini, state vice-president of the Rashtriya Yogi Mahasangh.PGI inspector Sunil Singh said the allegations against the police personnel were being investigated.According to Saini’s complaint, around 6.30 am on Sept 19, 2024, a white SUV with a press sticker stopped outside his house. The occupants allegedly introduced themselves as personnel of Bijnor Police. Saini alleged they entered the premises and took his sons, Rahul and Kavindra, away in the SUV. When family members protested, they were allegedly pushed and threatened, the complaint states.The family later learnt that Rahul and Kavindra had been named as accused in an FIR registered at Noorpur police station in Bijnor. Police records, as cited in the complaint, show the two were arrested from Gohawar intersection in Bijnor.Saini has alleged that CCTV footage and mobile phone videos in the family’s possession show the brothers were taken from their Lucknow residence, contradicting the arrest location mentioned in the police documents. He also alleged that Bijnor police subsequently added serious charges, including rioting, assault with a deadly weapon and attempt to murder, along with accusations of causing hurt and grievous hurt, insulting and criminally intimidating others.After their arrest, both men were sent to jail and later secured bail from a court, according to the complaint.Saini said he first approached local police and then submitted complaints to senior officials, including Police Commissioner. He also claimed he wrote to the Human Rights Commission and approached govt-level authorities but received no relief. He then moved the court seeking action against the personnel he alleges were involved.
