Nagpur: Two history-sheeters, including Lakhan Hiranwar, allegedly assaulted a property dealer in Sadar and demanded Rs50,000 from him at gunpoint. Lakhan, a member of the dreaded Hiranwar gang, had just stepped out of jail after getting bail in a murder case.The incident took place on Sept 11 at around 8pm when the complainant, Vishal Mishra (40), a resident of Azad Chowk in Sadar, was discussing work with an acquaintance in his car. Hiranwar and another accused, Akash Kataria, came to the car, abused and beat up Mishra, threatening that he wouldn’t be able to deal in properties in the area without paying Rs50,000 as extortion. Katariya also allegedly held a pistol in front of Mishra.Police said Kataria has 11 cases, including injury, illegal weapon possession and molestation, registered against him, while Lakhan has two cases, including murder and NDPS.The accused are yet to be arrested. API Nitin Vitole and his team are conducting an investigation.
