Kolkata: A 19-year-old youth and his friend were allegedly ambushed, abducted, and tortured by a group of men over a grudge in the early hours of Friday, before being stripped and filmed. The victim, a resident of Kabi Tirtha Sarani in Kidderpore, filed a formal complaint with Hastings Police detailing a midnight ordeal that also involved a car chase. Cops have registered an FIR. According to cops, the incident began around 2 am when the teenager received a call from his friend, asking him to come to the ground floor of his apartment complex. When he went downstairs, he found two associates, Amir and Omair, waiting with a car. They requested the youth to accompany them.The 19-year-old, along with another friend, agreed to follow the car on his scooter.However, near Syed Baba Mazar at the AJC Bose Road flyover down ramp in Hastings, the car suddenly blocked the scooter while another car — an SUV that had been tailing them — blocked them in from the right side.A group of men — identified in the complaint as Ayan Khan, Bilal, Shahnawaz Alam, Meraj, and four-five others — stepped out of the vehicles and allegedly dragged the youth and his friend into the car by force.The victims were driven to a secluded location in Howrah, where they were beaten up. The teen said the group chopped his hair, burnt him with cigarette butts, and forced him to strip so he could be filmed. The ordeal ended later that morning when the duo and the scooter were dumped near Vidyasagar Setu.
