Shivamogga: A 28-year-old Bengaluru youth, Ullas Gowda, died after collapsing at Kodachadri hills in Shivamogga district Saturday.Ullas is the son of film producer and former Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) president Ba Ma Harish.He had travelled to Kodachadri with 13 friends from Bengaluru in a tempo traveller. The group stayed at a private homestay in Hosanagara taluk and took a jeep to the hilltop, up to Sarvajna Peetha. The incident occurred during their return journey.While walking down near the temple atop the hill, Ullas collapsed after suffering a cardiac arrest.Shivamogga SP B Nikhil told TOI the incident took place around 11.30am. “He collapsed after returning from Sarvajna Peetha atop the hill, where one should walk at least a kilometre. Later, his friends brought him by a jeep to Nagara hospital, where he was declared brought dead. We have requested his relatives to be present for the postmortem,” the SP said.Friends and local residents carried him down and took him to Hosanagara taluk hospital, but he is learnt to have died on the way.Ullas had got engaged a few months ago, and his wedding was scheduled for Dec. His family in Bengaluru has been informed.
