GORAKHPUR: A minor dispute over wearing a newly purchased pair of shoes turned fatal after a teenage boy allegedly attacked his younger brother with scissors, leading to his death in Maharajganj on Monday morning.The incident took place around 10:35 am in Chaumukha Nauka Tola village under Ghughli police station limits. Police said the 16-year-old accused and his 15-year-old brother argued over who would wear a pair of shoes, reportedly ordered online, first.The altercation quickly escalated, and in a fit of rage, the accused allegedly picked up a pair of scissors and attacked the victim, inflicting multiple injuries on his head and hands. The boy died on the spot.Family members rushed the victim to the community health centre in Ghughli, from where he was referred to the district hospital due to his critical condition. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival.ASP Siddharth Kumar said both the accused and the victim are minors. “The injured boy was rushed for treatment, but he could not be saved. Necessary legal action is being taken,” he said.“We have recorded the statements of the family members. We will soon produce the accused boy before the juvenile justice board,” said the officer.
