Prayagraj: Drafting a fresh strategy to combat the activities of criminal tribe gangs who often strike during monsoon, the Fatehpur police is strengthening its intelligence network in both town areas and the city outskirts. Sleuths of crime branch and intelligence have been assigned the task of compiling inputs and tighten the noose around criminal tribal gangs, known as ‘Ghumantu’ (nomads).SP (Fatehpur) Abhimanyu Manglik has also issued to set up temporary police outposts at 28 identified ‘Nat Dera’/’Kanjaran Dera’ hotspots across various police station areas in the district.SP asked Station House Officers (SHOs) to ensure the setting up of temporary police outposts or check-posts at crime prone and identified hotspots within one week and to ensure regular police patrolling and effective surveillance. SHOs were also instructed to maintain a vigilant watch to prevent illegal activities such as the sale and smuggling of liquor/cannabis and gambling.
