Prayagraj: District magistrate Manish Kumar Verma on Friday conducted a detailed review of the district-level committee of the City Gas Distribution system and directed expeditious issuance of pending no objection certificates (NOCs) related to the expansion of PNG pipelines. He emphasised the need for effective coordination with the departments concerned. Verma also instructed officials of the Prayagraj Municipal Corporation to obtain NOCs from the water works, electricity department and BSNL prior to submitting any demand notes. The DM asked officials of Indian Oil and Adani Gas Pvt Ltd to identify residential areas, commercial establishments and industrial zones currently lacking PNG connections. He instructed them to initiate measures for the expansion of the PNG network in these areas while simultaneously conducting awareness campaigns among the consumers. Calling to ensure the activation of PNG supply to those connections that are “ready-to-move” but not yet operational, he directed officials to take steps to facilitate the surrender of LPG connections in households and establishments that currently hold both PNG and LPG connections.
