HYDERABAD: A late-night drive turned fatal for a family of four in Siddipet district after their car veered off the road and plunged into an open well on the outskirts of Appannapalli village in Dubbak mandal. A couple and their two young children died in the accident.The deceased were identified as Dandugula Raju (30), a sand trader from Balwanthapur, his wife Bhagya (25), and their children Nihan (4) and Shanvika (2).Police said the family had gone to Siddipet to attend the 10th-day death ceremony of a relative. They were returning home when the car reached the outskirts of Appannapalli late on Wednesday night. The vehicle reportedly went out of control and fell into a well along the roadside.The accident came to light after some time when locals noticed the incident and alerted the police and fire department. Emergency personnel reached the spot and launched a rescue operation. The car was eventually pulled out of the well with the help of a crane, but all four occupants were found dead.The bodies were shifted to the 100-bed Regional Hospital in Dubbak for postmortem examination.The deaths of four members of the same family have cast a pall of gloom over Balwanthapur village, where relatives and residents gathered after news of the tragedy spread.
