Hyderabad: A man who had been posing as a dentist for several years was arrested on Tuesday following a raid in Old Neredmet, Malkajgiri, by special operations team and local police. A case was registered by the Neredmet police after they received information that Anjalika Dental Clinic, located near Three Temple, was operating without license.Officials conducted a surprise inspection around 2pm and found the accused, Ramesh Kumar Gupta (46), was running the clinic without a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree. During verification, it was revealed he had not completed formal education beyond school level and had allegedly used fake credentials to present himself as a dentist.Police said Gupta hails from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh and moved to Telangana 25 years ago. He initially stayed in Kagaznagar before shifting to Neredmet 15 years ago. He reportedly established the clinic about 14 years ago and operated it often during late-night hours.Police said he was treating patients and charging fees while falsely claiming professional qualifications, thereby endangering public health. A case has been registered for cheating and illegal medical practice, and further investigation is underway.
