Everest Industries Limited has appointed Sunder Nilakantan as its Internal Auditor and Chief Risk Officer (CRO) for a three-year term effective May 26, 2026, the company said in a stock exchange filing on Tuesday.
The appointment was approved by the company’s board based on the recommendations of the Audit Committee and Risk Management Committee, according to the filing.
Nilakantan replaces Niranjan Gokhale, who had been handling the additional responsibilities of Internal Auditor and CRO since April 8, 2026, on an interim basis. Gokhale will continue in his existing role as Head – Strategy.
“We would like to inform the exchanges that pursuant to the recommendation of the Audit Committee and Risk Management Committee, the Board of Directors of the Company at their meeting held today i.e. on May 26, 2026 has approved the appointment of Mr. Sunder Nilakantan as an Internal Auditor and Chief Risk Officer of the Company w.e.f. May 26, 2026,” Everest said in its exchange filing.
A Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a commerce graduate from the University of Bombay, Nilakantan brings more than 35 years of experience spanning internal audit, treasury, finance, compliance, governance, and risk management.
Before joining Everest Industries, he was associated with Larsen & Toubro Limited as Head of the Shared Services Center. He has also held senior leadership roles at Crompton Greaves, Ion Exchange India, Shaw Wallace and Aventis CropScience.
The company said Nilakantan has expertise in risk-based audits, SAP implementation, corporate controls, and financial governance, along with experience in working closely with audit committees and senior management teams.
