Jaipur: The Employee State Insurance Corporation’s Medical College and Hospital in Jaipur has introduced a free annual health check-up programme for insured individuals aged 40 and above as part of new labour laws.The initiative, which commenced Thursday, includes comprehensive diagnostic tests such as those for diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol, anaemia, ECG and chest X-ray. This programme aims to provide regular health monitoring and will be conducted daily at no cost to the participants.On the first day of the launch of its annual health check-up programme, ESIC conducted tests of 300 beneficiaries who are insured persons above 40 years of age. The scheme was launched at an event held at ESI Hospital in Jaipur, in the presence of minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar.Khimsar said that in today’s fast-paced life, people tend to neglect their health. “This problem is more prevalent among women who often fail to take care of their health. As a result, most women are found to suffer from serious conditions such as cervical cancer, which sometimes leads to death. The Centre is already providing HPV vaccine free of cost to girls across the country to protect them from cervical cancer.”
