Chennai: AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami launched his election campaign at Mandaveli in Mylapore constituency, allotted to BJP in the alliance, appealing to voters to back the AIADMK-led front to “free the state from the clutches of the DMK’s dynastic regime.”EPS who started the campaign after offering prayers at Kapaleeswarar temple, alleged that DMK govt was abandoning welfare schemes introduced during the AIADMK regime. He also hit out at the DMK for ‘dynastic rule’ alleging that family members of chief minister M K Stalin were interfering in govt affairs.Countering DMK’s charge that AIADMK was subservient to BJP, EPS said it was DMK that was treating its allies as subordinates. “This was reflected in the reduced number of seats allotted to them,” he said. He also took a dig at DMDK, remarking that DMK had allotted more seats to an unrecognised party than to a recognised one in its alliance.
