Patna: The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) on Tuesday conducted searches at seven premises linked to Manoj Kumar Rajak, an executive engineer posted at NBPDCL’s Jaynagar unit. A disproportionate assets (DA) case against him alleges that Rajak and his brother, Sanjay, amassed assets 62.66% beyond their known sources of income since 2009.Officials searched seven locations and recovered documents related to 17 land plots, besides evidence of investments made in Nepal. The EOU is also scrutinising departmental decisions that allegedly caused losses to public revenue. Rajak’s parent department has been informed about his conduct.The investigation is being carried out under provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
