Buxar: In line with state govt’s directive to observe Panchayat Development Day on the last Sunday of every month, energy department secretary Ajay Yadav, who is CMD of Bihar State Power (Holding) Company Limited and secretary in charge of Buxar district, attended a programme at Churamanpur gram panchayat in Buxar block.The theme of this month’s Panchayat Development Day, observed on Sunday, was “Women-friendly panchayat”. Discussions focused on promoting gender equality, increasing women’s participation in decision-making, ensuring safety of women and girls, expanding access to education and skill development, strengthening economic empowerment, improving health and nutrition services, creating women-friendly infrastructure, promoting social awareness and behavioural change, and ensuring inclusive and sustainable rural development.Later, Yadav inspected the 132/33 KV grid sub-station at Dumraon. He reviewed the grid’s operations, power supply quality, functioning of transformers and other equipment, safety standards, and maintenance work. He also inspected the premises and sought information from officials on various technical and operational aspects.Further, the energy secretary directed officials to ensure regular maintenance of all electrical equipment within a fixed timeline and achieve 100% compliance with safety standards. He said providing uninterrupted, quality and safe electricity supply to consumers, along with prompt resolution of technical issues, remains the department’s top priority.
