Buxar: Energy secretary and CMD of Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited, Ajay Yadav, on Monday reviewed flood relief operations in Buxar, where nearly 10,000 people in 24 villages have been affected, and directed officials to ensure timely assistance, uninterrupted power supply and speedy resolution of electricity-related complaints.During his visit to flood-hit areas, Yadav inspected relief and rescue measures, interacted with affected villagers and later chaired a disaster management review meeting at the district collectorate.According to the district disaster management branch, floods have affected five blocks, 12 panchayats and 24 villages, impacting 9,989 people. The administration has deployed 36 boats, including 31 currently in operation, besides distributing 1,870 polythene sheets and 65.75 quintals of animal fodder.Yadav instructed officials to maintain close coordination to ensure prompt relief to affected families. He also reviewed revenue collection and the progress of power transmission and operation and maintenance works in the district.Emphasising consumer services, he directed power officials to coordinate regularly with public representatives and ensure time-bound disposal of electricity complaints. He also reviewed the status of defective power meters and asked officials to repair or replace faulty meters within the stipulated timeframe under departmental SOPs.Later, Yadav visited Arjunpur village and inspected a rooftop solar installation set up under the ULA-Kutir Jyoti Yojana. Interacting with a beneficiary, he sought feedback on the impact of the solar system on electricity consumption and household power needs.The BSPHCL chief directed officials to ensure that all eligible families are covered under the scheme and asked them to expedite implementation with regular monitoring. District magistrate Sahila and other senior officials accompanied him during the visit.
