‘Awarapan 3 very soon’

The actor surprised moviegoers at a Mumbai screening when he arrived at the theatre with his co-star Disha Patani. They arrived at the theatre during the interval, interacted with fans and spoke about the response to the film.

Speaking to the audience, Emraan said, “This is a film which belongs to fans more than the makers isiliye hum wapis aaye abhi, is journey ko humne aur thrilling banaya with more action and more emotions. Friday ko bas humare haath se nikal gayi aur aapke hawale (This is a film that belongs to the fans more than the makers, which is why we have returned. We have made this journey even more thrilling with more action and emotions. On Friday, the film will be out of our hands and in yours).”

When fans declared that the film would become a super-hit, Emraan responded, “Movie baaki hai, second half better hai (The movie is not over yet; the second half is better).”

Hinting at a potential third instalment, Emraan said, “Umeed yahi hai ki aapko puri film pasand aayegi. Hopefully, Awarapan 3 very soon (We hope you enjoy the entire film, and hopefully),” he said.

About Awarapan 2

Directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Bhatt under the banner of Vishesh Films, Awarapan 2 stars Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani in the lead roles. Apart from Emraan and Disha, the film also stars veteran actor Shabana Azmi and Kohrra star Suvinder Vicky.

Awarapan 2 released in theatres on Friday and opened to a strong response from audiences. The film is competing with Sunny Deol-starrer Batwara 1947, but it is way ahead of the film in terms of opening day box office performance. While Emraan’s film minted 22 crore on Friday, Sunny Deol’s film raked in 5.75 crore.

In a recent interview with Man’s World India, Emraan opened up about the long gap between the two Awarapan films. He said, “I was holding off for the longest because a sequel has to be worthy of the first film. I was waiting for a strong script.” He shared that they went ahead with the film after writer Bilal Siddiqi came on board with a compelling subject. “Once we read it, we decided to go ahead,” Emraan said.
