Ranchi: With the civic body polls across the state scheduled on Monday, district administrations intensified preparations to ensure a smooth, free and fair electoral process.In Ranchi too, the district administration geared up for the polls for 53 wards of Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) and 13 wards of Bundu Nagar Panchayat by setting up over 900 polling stations across the district.Ranchi city superintendent of police Paras Rana took out a flag march ahead of the polls on Friday evening to ensure law and order in the city. Ranchi district election officer (DEO) Manjunath Bhajantri asked officials to make adequate security arrangements at the counting site and conduct thorough checks at entry and exit gates to ensure a transparent and peaceful election.“CCTV cameras will also be set up at the counting site to ensure thorough surveillance. Apart from this, all polling stations will have toilets, first-aid facilities, ambulances and fire tenders in instances of emergencies, among other facilities,” the DEO added. Meanwhile, the Ranchi district transport department roped in over 500 vehicles to ferry election officials, security personnel and ballot boxes to polling stations across the district.
