Kanpur: A 65-year-old woman was injured when the dilapidated mud house she lived in collapsed following heavy rain in Narval tehsil of Kanpur late Saturday.The injured woman was identified as Shashi Mishra. According to villagers, she was alone in the house when it collapsed.Hearing her cries for help, residents rushed to the spot, removed the debris and rescued her. She was subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment.Villagers said the house had been in a dilapidated condition for some time and the continuous rainfall further weakened its structure, leading to the collapse.Shashi said she had been living alone since her husband’s death several years ago. Her two daughters are married and live separately.Revenue Department officials said they received information about the incident on Sunday and subsequently sent a team to the spot.
