Times News NetgworkChandigarh: Cyber cons duped an elderly woman of Rs 32 lakh by fraudulently withdrawing the money from her account after hacking her phone. The complainant, Buland Iqbal Singh, a resident of Sector 15, Chandigarh, said he holds a joint savings account with his mother. He added that since his mother is a cancer patient who is partially paralysed, he operates the account to cover medical expenses.According to the complainant, the account had Rs 32 lakh but when he tried to make an online payment, he found that it was blocked. Upon visiting the bank, the complainant found that the account had been hacked and Rs 32 lakh withdrawn.The complainant also alleged that a few days ago, call forwarding had been activated on his mother’s phone without her knowledge.
