Amravati: 75-year-old man, Govind Pinjarkar, died after being attacked by a wild boar in Amravati’s Asiad Colony on Wednesday morning. He had stepped out for his routine walk around 5:15 am near Vighnaharta Ganpati Mandir when the animal suddenly charged at him.Pinjarkar sustained multiple bite injuries, including the loss of a finger. Residents rushed to his aid and managed to drive the wild boar away using sticks. He was taken to a private hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.The attack, captured on CCTV, has gone viral on social media and triggered fear among residents. While locals say leopards have been spotted in the Asiad Colony area in the past, this is the first reported fatal wild boar attack in the locality.Authorities are yet to issue a statement on measures to prevent wildlife from entering residential areas.
