Kolkata: Enforcement Directorate has summoned former state tourism minister Indranil Sen to appear before it on Oct 7 in connection with the probe against alleged anomalies by massArt — a company linked to his wife and paymentsallegedly linked to Mamata Banerjee. The agency on Thursday pointed fingers at Sen’s two close associates, Dhrubajyoti Basu and Dipesh Roy. Tenders were allegedly awarded to companies owned by Basu and Roy, and the money received was subsequently transferred to several entities controlled by Sen’s relatives. Funds were also withdrawn from these entities, the agency claimed.According to ED, Rs 30 lakh was transferred from Octave Records — a company linked to Sen — to Banerjee’s account. Sen has claimed that the amount was transferred to the former CM’s account as royalty.ED officials are also looking at the connection between these companies and massArt, which had allegedly used Unesco’s logo and goodwill by falsely claiming to be a Unesco-sponsored entity.A judicial inquiry commission, set up by Bengal govt to investigate alleged institutional corruption during the earlier govt, has started an investigation against Sen over alleged multi-crore irregularities in the tendering process of the information & cultural affairs department, sources said.
