Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Rajiv Ranjan has directed block development officers (BDOs), circle officers (COs), child development programme officers (CDPOs) and civic body officials to conduct field visits in their respective areas to monitor public services and the implementation of welfare schemes.The DC asked nodal officers to conduct mandatory physical inspections of public institutions — including schools, anganwadi centres, community health centres, public health centres (PHCs), PDS shops, and Panchayat Bhawans — to gain first-hand insight into their operational status. He directed that the grievances be addressed on the spot during field visits, and officials must inform the district headquarters of all steps taken to resolve community issues.“The programme’s purpose is to guarantee the effective delivery of welfare initiatives intended to empower the community,” Ranjan said.In line with the directive, BDOs, COs, and CDPOs fanned out across Bodam, Dhalbhumgarh, Musaboni, and other remote blocks on Thursday to inspect schools and anganwadi centres. The inspection involved a thorough review of administrative records and MGNREGA project status, supplemented by direct consultations with the public to identify local concerns.While assessing MGNREGA progress earlier this week, the DC identified a lack of project implementation across multiple villages. The DC asked officials to identify lagging villages, determine the cause of inactivity, and adhere to a strict timeline: starting at least one project within seven days and five projects within 15 days.
