Patna: The district administration conducted an earthquake mock drills at seven locations across the city on Thursday. The exercise, held as a follow-up to an earlier table-top simulation, tested system responses to scenarios involving structural damage and fires. Participating agencies included the NDMA, SDRF, NDRF, the Indian Army, local police, and municipal departments. Seven teams from the Bihar Regimental Centre and MH Danapur also took part. The drill was carried out at the Patna Collectorate, JD Women’s College, Biscomaun Bhawan, City Centre Mall, JP Setu, Gandhi Maidan, and IGIMS. Officials said the exercise aimed to assess inter-agency coordination and preparedness, noting that Patna falls under Seismic Zone IV and remains highly vulnerable to earthquakes.
