Pune: A 31-year-old wine shop employee from Narhe was robbed of Rs 4 lakh at the point of a sharp weapon near Bhumkar Bridge on the Katraj-Dehu Road bypass around 11.30pm on Sunday while heading to his employer’s house on Sinhagad Road with the day’s collection.The Narhe police took time to register an FIR on Monday as they were verifying if the robbery could be an insider job. Senior inspector Asaram Shete of Narhe police told TOI, “We verified the incident and claim of robbery and then registered the robbery case”.The wine shop employee Rohan Kamble, a resident of Kalewadi, tendered a statement to the police and then FIR was registered.“The CCTV and other clues showed the two accused had been recceing the wine shop for last few days and tracking how Kamble transported cash for days, closely monitoring activities before the robbery,” Shete said.“On Sunday night, when Kamble started for his employer’s house, the two men followed him on a bike and intercepted him near Bhumkar Bridge before threatening and robbing him”, police said.Shete said, “The CCTV footage shows two men on a motorcycle followed Kamble, intercepted him near Bhumkar bridge, threatened him with a long sharp weapon, and fled with cash from his scooter after he ran away without resisting.”
