Noida: A 26-year-old hospital staffer returning home after completing his night shift died when an SUV, allegedly driven by a drunk youth, rammed his motorcycle near Parthala bridge around 1 am on Saturday and dragged him nearly 10 metres before coming to a halt. Three occupants of the car were arrested, while a fourth fled the spot.The victim, Aditya Kumar (26), a resident of Hindon Vihar in Barola, worked as a nursing staff member at a private hospital in Gaur City. Police said he was moving from the service lane onto the main carriageway near Parthala bridge when a Skoda Kylaq, allegedly being driven at high speed and recklessly by Chirag, crashed into his motorcycle.The impact flung him onto the road before he was dragged for around 10 metres, leaving him with severe head, abdominal and limb injuries.

The crash drew passersby, who caught hold of four youths travelling in the SUV. One managed to escape before police reached the spot, while the remaining three were allegedly thrashed by the crowd. After a Dial 112 alert, police rushed Aditya to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead.A damaged motorcycle helmet was recovered from the spot. Following a complaint by the victim’s cousin, Saurabh, an FIR was registered at Sector 113 police station against the driver under relevant provisions of the BNS for causing death by rash and negligent driving and other offences.Police identified the driver as Chirag, who was in the car with Ranjit and Vishal. Officials said preliminary findings suggest Chirag was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, though the allegation will be confirmed after forensic and medical examination.The SUV is registered in the name of Akash Kumar Sahu, an employee of a private company. Police said Sahu was not in the vehicle during the accident but will be served a notice to join the investigation. The vehicle was bought only in May and had no previous traffic challans.Aditya was the only son of his parents. His family said they had recently begun planning his marriage after he secured a stable job in the healthcare sector. Police said efforts are on to trace the fourth occupant of the car.
