Ludhiana: The Ludhiana rural police have arrested a drug peddler after it recovered heroin along with Rs 50,000 suspected drug money from his possession. The accused has been identified as Rahul Goswami. He was nabbed near Pul Aligarh Chowk in Jagraon. The police said he was recently out on bail in a drug trafficking case.Inspector Parminder Singh, SHO, City Jagraon police station, said the accused, was a resident of Link Road, Mandi Mullanpur, and was earlier involved in trafficking narcotic capsules and tablets. He added that after securing bail, he had shifted to selling heroin.The cops said they had received a tip off that the accused was bringing heroin from Mullanpur and supplying it in Jagraon and adjoining areas. They added that the accused was waiting for customers in his car near Pul Aligarh Chowk with a substantial quantity of heroin.Cops further said acting on the input, a police team led by SI Satpal Singh conducted a raid and apprehended the accused at the spot. They added that during search, heroin and Rs 50,000 in suspected drug proceeds were recovered from him. tnn
