Ranchi: The Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has initiated construction of a major drainage network in Hindpiri to mitigate perennial waterlogging in the locality. The project is being executed along Nala Road in ward 23, covering Maulana Azad Colony and extending up to lower PP compound. The project includes a 2,850-foot main drain and an additional 600-foot stretch targeting a waterlogged road near a school. Officials said the initiative is aimed at ensuring smooth flow of wastewater and preventing flooding during monsoon. The engineering team reviewed the progress and quality of work on Tuesday. It was noted that narrow roads have slowed construction, as casting is being done manually. Contractors have been directed to speed up execution using machinery and complete the project before the rainy season. Residents are expected to benefit from improved drainage and less flooding once the project is completed, officials said.
