Bengaluru: Indian diagnostics firm Dr Lal PathLabs on Friday reported a rise in first-quarter profit, boosted by sustained demand for its tests and preventive health packages under the SwasthFit banner.

Consolidated net profit for the three months ended ‌June 30 rose to 1.70 billion rupees ($17.62 million) from 1.32 billion rupees a year earlier.

Analysts said the company is expected to see favorable tailwinds from its growth in bundled test packages, setting up of new precision diagnostic centers, and a continued focus on improving its revenue per patient.

Dr Lal, which ‌operated 312 clinical labs as of March 31, reported a 19% increase in consolidated revenue from operations to 7.98 billion rupees during the quarter.

The company is aggressively adding more labs to its network, and the management in the previous quarter said that it expected margins to be between 27% and 28% in the current fiscal as it steps up investments.

The company’s board also approved ‌the acquisition of stakes in Ghana-based diagnostic imaging company Sunshine Healthcare for 380 million rupees and in Bengaluru-based biotechnology and diagnostics startup Neuome Technologies for 35 million rupees.

India’s diagnostic chains continue to benefit from growing demand for preventive healthcare and routine health screening and chronic disease management as consumers increasingly opt for organised networks over standalone players.

The board approved an interim dividend of 5 rupees per equity share for FY26-27.
