Jammu, Feb 07: Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson of Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board and BJP National Executive member, on Saturday described the Union Budget as “historic” and expressed confidence that it would infuse new vitality into the Indian economy.
She praised Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s presentation, saying the budget’s focus on innovation and skill development would strengthen India’s position on the global stage.
“This budget, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, will bolster our businesses and establish India as a major influencer in world economic affairs,” Dr Andrabi said while addressing a press conference, in Pulwama, organised by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to discuss the highlights of the Union Budget for the upcoming financial year.
The Waqf Board Chairperson was accompanied by senior party leaders including BJP District President Syed Showkat Gayoor Andrabi, State General Secretary of Kisan Morcha Arshad Bhat, District Vice President Avtar Singh, Mohammad Lateef, and other key figures.
Highlighting the key initiatives, Dr Andrabi pointed out several futuristic missions and schemes outlined in the budget, including the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Mission, Bio-pharma Shakti Mission, National Semiconductor Mission, MSME Growth Fund, and Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme. “These programmes are designed to be change-makers in India’s economy, aiming to position the country as a global leader in technology and manufacturing,” she said.
The BJP leader appreciated the budget’s emphasis on long-term, result-oriented projects such as Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage, Lithium Cell Manufacturing, and Nuclear Power Projects. “These initiatives are set to propel India toward sustainable growth and stable development in various sectors including health, education, agriculture, textiles, and infrastructure,” she said.
Dr Darakhshan lauded the continuation of free ration for economically weaker sections, tax reforms, promotion of indigenous health and wellness sectors, and employment generation schemes. She added that the budget’s positive measures will complement India’s expanding global trade and economic partnerships under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
