Ponda: Power minister Ramkrishna Sudin Dhavalikar has urged Goa’s major political parties not to field defectors and instead give opportunities to new faces.“More youth need to join politics,” Dhavalikar told reporters. He said young people aspiring to enter politics should understand Goa’s political history by studying the tenures of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), Congress and BJP govts.“MGP does not offer tickets to any defector. Likewise, other parties should reject them to clean up politics,” he said.Dhavalikar reiterated that the ongoing water problems in Ponda, particularly in Bethora, were the result of mismanagement.“We have sufficient water, but the officials should manage to ensure it reaches every tail-end area,” he said.He suggested that water supply staff should release water to households only after reservoirs are at least 80% full, saying this would help ensure adequate supply reaches all consumers.The senior MGP leader also spoke about his early years in business and politics, saying a willingness to work hard could lead to success.Dhavalikar said he had supported many young people in pursuing careers in catering, nursing, medicine and engineering, and that almost all of them were doing well.
