GURGAON: The supply of essential commodities, including LPG, is smooth and stable, and residents should not book or store cylinders unnecessarily or be misled by rumours, said Ajay Kumar, the deputy commissioner.Amid these assurances, enforcement has been intensified across the city to curb malpractice in LPG distribution. Officials said domestic cylinder supplies remain normal and are being monitored daily in coordination with oil marketing companies, while residents have been advised not to believe social media rumours about any shortage.District food and supplies controller Ashok Rawat said six enforcement teams have been set up to conduct daily field inspections to prevent hoarding and black marketing. During a raid on Friday in Rithoj village, officials seized 56 domestic and 13 commercial cylinders that were being stored illegally, and an FIR was registered against the violator. “Strict action against any violation will continue,” Rawat said, adding that consumers will not be allowed to face inconvenience and panic booking should be avoided.The district currently has 58 LPG distributors from HP Gas, Indane and Bharat Gas, serving around 10,27,000 domestic consumers and 9,923 commercial consumers. Officials said that since supply disruptions linked to the West Asia conflict, distributors have received 37,450 domestic LPG cylinders, while 3,74,500 cylinders have been supplied in Gurgaon so far in March.To manage higher booking demand, additional booking options have been introduced. Indian Oil Corporation has enabled IVRS booking on 8391990070 and missed-call booking on 8927225667, alongside existing options such as SMS, WhatsApp, IndianOil ONE, PhonePe and Paytm.As per guidelines, urban consumers must maintain a 25-day gap between bookings, while rural and Ujjwala consumers must follow a 45-day gap. Officials reiterated that the situation remains under control and urged residents to stay calm and avoid spreading misinformation, emphasizing that the supply chain is stable and there is no need for panic.
