Jhansi: A 19-year-old man from Jhansi, who was pursuing a law course in Haryana, was found dead near railway tracks on Sunday morning under mysterious circumstances, causing shock and panic among family members.The deceased, Sanchay Misuriya, was a first-year student at Jindal Law College in Hisar. His father, Dr Sumit Misuriya, is the head of the Community Health Centre in Babina.On Sunday morning, Dr Sumit received information from the police that his son’s body was lying near the tracks a couple of kilometres away from his house near Sudarshan Garden on Unnao Road. The family stays at Pitambara Enclave, and both locations fall under Sipri Bazar police station. Police contacted the family based on an Aadhaar card found near the body. Shocked family members said their son was in college. They spoke to him a day earlier, on Saturday evening, when Sanchay took an out pass to visit his uncle in New Delhi for the weekend. After some time, he called his parents again and informed them that he was returning to college to complete an assignment that came to him urgently. When the body arrived, the upper part was mutilated, probably due to contact with a moving train, as suspected. Scores of people, many from the doctor fraternity, including CMO Dr Sudhakar Pandey, arrived at Sanchay’s house after hearing the news. The inconsolable family members demanded a probe into the reasons behind Sanchay’s presence at the accident site, as he had no plans to come to Jhansi and recently visited during Holi.The CMO said they are waiting for the post-mortem report to ascertain the cause of death. Meanwhile, CO (City) Laxmikant Gautam said they are awaiting the post-mortem report to ascertain the cause of death and will investigate the circumstances behind Sanchay’s presence there.According to family members, Sanchay was a bright student and the only son in the family, with a younger sister. His grandfather is also a practising doctor in the city.
