Prayagraj: Surgeons at Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital of the Motilal Nehru Medical College successfully performed a complex surgery on a 40-year-old patient for removal of a massive adrenal tumour.Archana, a resident of Jhunsi in Prayagraj, was suffering from abdominal discomfort and a lump for nearly a year. Medical investigations revealed a large tumour, extending from right subcostal and lumbar region up to the navel. On March 28, she was admitted to SRN Hospital, where detailed evaluation confirmed the presence of a non-functional adrenal mass. A high-risk surgery was performed on March 30 under the guidance of principal Prof Dr V K Pandey. The surgical team included Dr Ravi Raj Patil, Dr Vishwajeet Vajpayee, Dr Monica Singh, Dr Adarsh Singh, Dr Anjali, Dr Arpit Mishra and Dr Abhishek Maurya. The anaesthesia team, comprising Dr Anil Singh, Dr Pallavi Sood, Dr Utkarsh, Dr Pranaya and Dr Ekta, along with staff nurse Sushila, also played a crucial role.
