Patna: The Bihar govt has put in place arrangements to collect and examine DNA samples from relatives of people from the state who went missing in the recent Nepal tragedy, to help establish their identities.A home department official said on Tuesday families with relatives missing in the tragedy can approach their local police or admn for assistance with DNA sample collection. Police have been directed to extend all possible help to affected families and ensure they face no difficulties during the process.Samples collected from relatives will be examined at the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Patna. The DNA analysis is expected to help establish the identities of unidentified victims and assist families searching for missing relatives.The home department has appealed to families who lost contact with relatives during the tragedy to approach their nearest police or administrative office for information on the procedure.“For further information, families can contact the home department at 0612-2294073 during office hours,” the official said in a press statement.
