Chennai: The DMK on Tuesday postponed its Mupperum Vizha, scheduled to be held at the party headquarters in the evening, after party president and former chief minister M K Stalin fell ill.DMK general secretary Duraimurugan told mediapersons that the event had been postponed as Stalin was unwell. “The leadership will announce a fresh date for the event soon,” he said. The annual event commemorates the birth anniversaries of party founder and former chief minister C N Annadurai on Sept 15 and social reformer ‘Periyar’ E V Ramasamy on Sept 17, besides marking the DMK’s foundation day on Sept 17. The event was expected to be attended by senior party leaders and functionaries.
