ERODE: A DMK functionary collapsed and died an hour before chief minister MK Stalin‘s election rally started at Thindal in Erode on Thursday morning.The deceased has been identified as N V Ravichandran, 64, of Kamaraj Colony in Veerappanchatram. He was a party functionary in ward 23 of DMK’s Erode urban unit.While waiting for Stalin’s arrival, Ravichandran collapsed. He was rushed to Erode Government Medical College and Hospital where doctors examined and declared him dead. “The cause of his death was a heart attack,” said a doctor in the hospital told TOI.The Erode taluk police registered a case.
