Buxar: Buxar district magistrate Sahila on Thursday carried out a surprise night inspection of the sub-divisional hospital in Dumraon and reviewed its overall functioning. During the visit, she examined medical arrangements, cleanliness, the quality of healthcare services being provided to patients, availability of medicines, ambulance services, and the attendance of doctors and other healthcare staff.To improve transparency and patient convenience, the DM directed hospital authorities to install a digital display system on the premises to show real-time availability of medicines so that patients and attendants can access information on essential drugs easily.She also ordered that stretchers be kept readily available at the hospital entrance and that a “May I Help You” assistance counter be made operational.Taking note of negligence and deficiencies in the hospital’s functioning, the DM directed the block health manager to submit an explanation. Concerned officials were instructed to take immediate corrective measures to strengthen hospital operations and patient services.She further directed that duty rosters of doctors and healthcare staff be displayed prominently. Officials were also told to ensure the RO drinking water system and toilets remain clean and functional, and that patient facilities are monitored regularly. The district magistrate also instructed authorities to take necessary steps to operationalise the PICU facility at the earliest.
